*Dunn (Joseph, 1806-1860). Bay Horse in a landscape, 1847, oil on canvas, signed and dated lower centre, relined, 55.5 x 67.5cm (21.75 x 26.5ins), gilt frame. A keen huntsman, Joseph Dunn of Worcester was the son of William Dunn of Birmingham, who ran a coaching service to London. His skillful paintings reflect his deep knowledge of the sport in the counties of Herefordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. See Wingfield, Dictionary of Sporting Artists, 91. (1)
