It shows a young nobleman in rural shepherd's clothing with a wide-brimmed hat and a flute and is probably based on an image created by Giorgione.A different versionis part of the collection of theMusee Sainte-Croix de Poitiers, inv.882.1.369 ( link).

Part. min. old restored, old retouching. Frame. The Musée Pacum in Leuven keeps an almost identical variant of the same theme, which is much harder in expression and representation. The work, executed by Michiel van Coxcie, shows a rather hard, nordic influence in the expression of the figures. Sebastiano del Piombo's softly drawn figures, on the other hand, are more influenced by the Italian-Mediterranean. Under no. 207 in 'L'opera completa di Sebastiano del Piombo' a variation of the Christ carrying the cross is found, which is today kept in the National Gallery of Canada, in Ottawa. Composed of crosshatches and thick and thin lines, the sanguine strokes are carefully descriptive marks rendered with thought. Confident lines are smudged to soften contours and create shadow. Though the actualized painting for this study is hitherto unknown, it is clear that the artist is attempting to analyze the poses of his figures so that they may be composed with the utmost realism.

JUNGE FRAU MIT LUCHSPELZ Öl auf Holz. 65 x 53 cm. Im originalen, breitrandigen und durchbrochen geschnitzten sowie vergoldeten Spätrenaissance-Rahmen. Halbbildnis einer jungen Frau, mit leicht nach links schräg geneigtem Kopf, den Blick dem Betrachter zuwendend. Sie ist mit einem weißen, reich gefalteten Hemd bekleidet, mit rotem Einfassungsband, darüber ein türkisblaues, dunkles Samtmieder mit gestreiften Ärmelbändern. Ihren rechten Arm hat sie vor die Brust gelegt und hält in lockerer Hand den über die linke Schulter ziehenden Luchspelz. Der kleine Finger dabei etwas abgespreizt, mit kleinem, steinbesetztem Ring. Das dunkelbraune Haar mittelgescheitelt, seitlich zu Zöpfen geflochten, die locker am Rücken herabziehen, im Ohr ein kleiner, goldener Ring mit Perle. Über das Haar hinweg diademartig ein zarter Blattkranz. Das anmutige, schöne, aber ernste Gesicht mit feinem Inkarnat vorgeführt, die Konturen im Sfumato wirkungsvoll aufgelöst. Das Halbbildnis vor türkis/ dunkelgrünem Hintergrund, der sich nach rechts oben leicht aufhellt, in farbliche Korrespondenz gebracht mit dem grünen Mieder. Verso zwei Parkettierleisten.
