      Ignace Joseph DE CLAUSSIN (Luneville 1795 - 1844 Paris) Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (Copia da) (Leida 1606 - Amsterdam 1669) Autoritratto (?) ca. 1634 130 x 105 mm all'impronta Acquaforte De CLAUSSIN nacque a Luneville in Francia e morì a Parigi nel 1844. Era un collezionista ardente ed eccentrico e un artista di talento a pieno titolo. Nel 1824 de Claussin pubblicò un catalogo ragionato che all'epoca costituiva un importante contributo allo studio accademico delle stampe di Rembrandt. Era un copista di grande talento delle opere di Rembrandt producendo più di 200 incisioni dopo le opere di Rembrandt e di altri artisti. Molti musei inclusa la National Gallery of Victoria conservano esempi di stampe di De Claussin un'indicazione della loro qualità e fedeltà alla tecnica e alle immagini di Rembrandt. Anhand des kleinen Oeuvres des Amateurkupferstechers Claussin ist eine Vorliebe für niederländische Meister, besonders Rembrandt, zu erkennen, nach deren Vorlagen er stach. Vorliegendes Blatt mit einer großen Anzahl von unterschiedlichen, sehr herausragenden Charakterköpfen, erinnert dagegen unmittelbar an die Studienköpfe Boissieus. - Ausgezeichneter Druck mit breitem, in den Seiten mit schmalem Rand. Auf Untersatzkarton montiert, bedingt dadurch besonders im rechten Rand etwas fleckig und faltig, geringfügig vergilbt, sonst gutes Exemplar.
