Large unsigned oil on canvas landscape scene shows a green grass hillside having some large boulders with trees on its upper side. Viewer looks over the clear hillside to white billowing clouds in a shaded blue sky. Identified on stretcher "Painted by Harold Camp About 1914, Canada". Housed in a molded wood frame. Note: Harold M. Camp also exhibited his paintings at the 1915 San Francisco Panama Pacific International Exposition (PPIE). A world's fair held for nearly a year, the PPIE commemorated the completion of the Panama Canal, the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the Pacific by the explorer Balboa, and the revitalization of its host city after the 1906 earthquake and fire. Among its attractions, the PPIE exhibited both international and American artwork. For many local artists, the Exposition offered their first opportunity for greater recognition.
