Boberg's photography focuses on the cool formalism of forgotten, unpeopled places - desolate walls, embankments, and alleyways. What makes his photographs interesting, however, is that each one is of an imaginary place. Boberg painstakingly builds small dioramas and scenes, which he then photographs in the studio. The images include: "Gewerbeneubau"; "Fabrikmauer"; "Balkon", "Mauerweg", "Nacht"; "Sitzplatz" and "Kleine Böschung". – In excellent condition.

Oliver Boberg (b. 1965) Olivier Boberg is a German artist and photographer who has garnered critical attention for his photographs that typically feature what appear at first glance to be uninhabited urban landscapes, but are actually models that he builds in his studio. Boberg began his career studying art history at the University of Würzburg, Germany, from 1985–86, before transferring to the Art Academy Nürnberg to study painting from 1986–93. His work is both elegant and evocative, and the painstaking detail he employs in the creation of his models, is contradicted by the seemingly abandoned cityscapes he captures in his photographs. His works are held in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and he has held solo exhibitions in Chicago, Shanghai and San Francisco. He currently lives and works in Fürth, Germany. Kleine Böschung (Small Embankment); Sitzplatz (Seating Area). 2011. 2 chromogenic prints on Kodak Professional Endura paper. 29 x 28,5 cm and 33 x 26,2 cm (50 x 41 cm). Each signed by the artist in ink and annotated in pencil on the verso. Boberg's photography focuses on the cool formalism of forgotten, unpeopled places - desolate walls, embankments, and alleyways. What makes his photographs interesting, however, is that each one is of an imaginary place. Boberg painstakingly builds small dioramas and scenes, which he then photographs in the studio. Each print is from an edition by Griffelkunst. - Both prints with a few light handling creases, otherwise in excellent condition.
