          A Porter Blanchard sterling silver handmade vegetable serving spoon. The highly collectible deep spoon with a complexly curved handle is reminiscent of a plant stem. Hallmarked on the backside of the handle. Porter George Blanchard, 1886 to 1973, was an American silversmith living and working in Pacoima, California. He is considered to have been part of the Arts and Crafts Movement. American Silver Flat Wares, Table Wares, Home Decor, and Collectibles. Total weight: 29g

          Porter George Blanchard (American, 1886-1973) A set of eight  pewter chargers with hand-hammered lobes, circa 1960s. Each is stamped "197 HANDMADE PORTER BLANCHARD" to the underside. Blanchard worked in the Arts and Crafts tradition, operating his California studio from the 1920s until his death in 1973, and his work is included in a number of museum collections across the US. Each measures 12 1/2" in diameter.

          plain tapered sides and slightly rounded bases, each marked on base with silhouette mark and numbered 452 Porter Blanchard (1886-1973) was the son of Boston Silversmiith George Porter Blanchard. By 1914 he was a member of the Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston, and in 1916 he joined the Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts. He moved to California for his health in 1923, and settling in Burbank the following year he helped organize the Arts and Crafts Society of Southern California, serving as its first president. In 1933 he opened a shop at 6605 Sunset Boulevard, to cater to a movie clientele. In 1944 he was elected a medalist of the Boston Society of Arts and Crafts.
