ALMASY, PAUL (1906-2003). SEVEN PRESS PHOTOGRAPHS

1960s. All gelatin silver prints, all but one approx. 23 x 30 cm. Each bears the 'Photo Almasy' stamp on the reverse, and four also have the Geïllustreerde Pers stamp verso. The photos show native African peoples, with the exception of one which is a photo of a Moro mosque on Mindanao Island in the Philippines. Added: A press photo by Tore Johnson of Congolese children, 1962. W. stamps of Johnson and the Geïllustreerde Pers verso. 2.5 cm tear along left side. Some minor defects such as worn edges and wrinkles. (total 8)

Der aus Calvados stammende August Félix Fauchon begann seine Karriere als Lehrling bei dem Magnaten Félix Potin bevor er seinen "Vier Jahreszeiten"-Wagen mit feinstem Obst und Gemüse auf dem Markt bei der Madeleine präsentierte.
