Women's Baume et Mercier Watches

Baume et Mercier has changed hands several times since it was founded over 175 years ago as a manufacturer of enameled fob watches in Switzerland by Louis Victor Baume and Pierre-Joseph-Celestine (Frères Baume). It has nevertheless enjoyed an uninterrupted history of luxury watchmaking.

Paul Mercier joined forces with William Baume in the early 1900s and together they founded Baume & Mercier, Genève in 1918. Mercier had considerable skill as a marketer, creating feminine, shaped (which means other than round), and jeweled wristwatches for the newly emancipated woman of the Roaring Twenties.

Baume et Mercier’s collections for women incorporate fashion-forward styling and classically inspired designs made famous by the company for over a hundred years. The Linea line, for example, was introduced in 1987 and now includes evocative pieces of “wearable art” in vibrant colors. The Classima women's collection is timeless, feminine, and offers choices in moon-phase functionality and a matched pair “his/her” watch set.
