Montblanc Pens

The Montblanc Company was founded in 1906 by German banker Alfred Nehemias and German engineer August Eberstein. The company was originally called the Simplo Filler Pen Company as they focused on producing the new simplicissimus pen design with a built-in ink well. The name Montblanc was first used in 1909 and was registered as a trademark in 1910.

Montblanc's most famous line of pens, Meisterstück, was launched in 1924. In 1934, due to widespread use of the name, the company was officially renamed Montblanc-Simplo GmbH. The company’s factory was destroyed during World War II and the Allies oversaw rebuilding of the plant. Montblanc was fully back in business by the '50s.

While Montblanc is best known for its fountain pens, the company has also produced classic ballpoint and rollerball pens under the names Montblanc, Meisterstück, and other pen lines. Vintage ballpoint pens, rollerball pens, and mechanical pencils can be purchased. Montblanc pens are known for their high-end quality and design and are considered by many collectors to be the best pens available.
