Hennessy Cognac

Hennessy in Cognac, France produces luxury brandies and Cognacs. Richard Hennessy, an Irishman, founded the company in 1765. Today, Hennessy is owned by Moet Hennessy, which also includes Louis Vuitton.

Distributed worldwide, annual production for Hennessy, the world’s largest Cognac producer, is around 50 million bottles a year. This amounts to about 40 percent of the world’s supply.

Long known as an "old man’s drink," Hennessy is among the Cognac producers intent on bringing in a more youthful demographic. A few of its products attempt to do just that, including Hennessy Black sold in a sleek black bottle and Pure White, a hard-to-find lighter Cognac.
