HAG HO Scale Model Railroads & Trains

HAG Modellbahnen GMBH is a model train company based in Switzerland. Its founders, brothers Hugo and Alwin Gahler, were originally metal workers who worked part time to produce their own model railroad track. In April 1944, the brothers established H. & A. Gahler, or HAG.

HAG Model Railways AG started in the model train business by producing O gauge models and track. As O gauge model trains decreased in demand, the company began to gradually establish an HO scale product line. By 1957, HAG had converted to HO scale products and they discontinued manufacture of O gauge model trains. HAG model trains are made of die-cast metal and run on both two rail and three-rail track.

In 1986, HAG produced their first full scale locomotive in HO scale. HAG was sold to Tekwiss Engineering AG in 2012. The company continues to produce model trains from its factory in Stansstad, Switzerland, operating as HAG Modellbahnen GMBH.
