Colt Handguns

One of the most enduring symbols of the handgun is the Colt Peacemaker, a weapon that ruled the American West. It was carried by the likes of Buffalo Bill Cody and went on to be perched on the hips of U.S. cavalry troops.

Samuel Colt's handgun innovations led to the production of the legendary Colt Model 1877, the first double-action revolver commercially produced in the U.S. With .45-caliber stopping power and barrel lengths ranging from 2 1/2 to 12 inches, it became a favorite among lawmen and more than a few outlaws.

Since the turn of the 20th century, Colt's signature handgun has been the semi-automatic pistol. Based on John Browning's patented short recoil, locked breech, and exposed-hammer design, Colt’s magazine-fed handguns have been some of the most widely-used pistols in history. They've been adopted by users ranging from the U.S. military to civilians seeking self-defense weapons. Colt handguns are prized for their quality, craftsmanship, and performance.
