Silent night hugs solitary mountains stretching about,
The moon woke up but startled the birds sleeping here,
So their twitter echoes between spring gully and mere. - In ravine birds chirping Wang Wei The actual rock that inspired this work is to be offered for sale by Sotheby's as part of the sale: Tao: The Jiansongge Collection (Lot 2723). Named Pinnacle of Verdant Clouds, it is a 'Ying' limestone rock dating to the Ming / Qing dynasties.
