Pair of Chinese 20th Century Republic Period, Yuan Jiang waterside landscape painting hand scroll. In long horizontal rectangular continuous shaped plaques. The panels hand painted with mountains, water fall, sampan boat, dense tree, lishui rivers, and elder standing on the high rocky rock. In folk religion each mountain has its own deity associated with it. Mountain is one of the eight trigrams in Feng Shui and Yi Jing. Of these Taishan is considered the most important and stones from the mountain were often placed in towns across China as a lucky charm. And another in hundred Calligraphy Chinese lettering inscriptions poems and followed with Yuan Jiang artist's signature and iron-red seals. All can be put together rolled into one furl. Its vivid craftsmanship makes it a unique worth.
