Artist or Maker

Notes

Yu Ming was born in Wuxing and used the artistic name Difan. He worked primarily in Shanghai and focused on figure paintings. A versatile artist, he learned Western watercolor techniques and studied the painting styles of Chen Hongshou and Ren Yi. He was a nephew of the poet Yu Yuan and close friends with Wu Changshuo.
