Forms are left ambigous in Youssef Jaha's paintings, yet are suggestive of landscapes and figures, of cloud formations and skyscapes. The pictorial framing device which he employs in many of his works resembles the outline of a head. These refer to the innner landscapes of mind, where active imagination - the vivid colours contained within- contrast to the plain, unadorned ground on the outside.
