Yann Renard Goulet RHA (1914-1999) REPUBLICAN MEMORIAL patinated plaster maquette for bronze 122cm., 48in. high Maquette for a memorial designed for the Republican plot at Miltown Cemetry, Belfast. This was the last major commission that Yann Goulet worked on and it was never realised due to illness. In design it relates closely to his bronze Guerilla Fighter, exhibited at the RHA in 1984 and illustrated in the catalogue to that show. Guerilla Fighter may in turn relate to a much earlier work of the same title, shown in Goulet's first one-man show in Ireland at Brown Thomas' Little Theatre in 1957.
