Yann Renard Goulet RHA (1914-1999) COSMOS oil on board 76 by 91cm., 30 by 36in. This work relates to another of the same title, exhibited at the RHA in 1999, catalogue no. 206. E4000-6000 The following two works are offered for auction on behalf of GORTA. The entire proceeds, including the buyer's commission will go to GORTA. Craig Bone ( Zimbabwean, B. 1955) Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Bone studied graphic design at Natal University, South Africa. He returned to his homeland in 1977 and was severely injured while doing military service. He then took up painting full time. Inspired by the wealth of wildlife in his country he offers through his meticulous realistic representations a fascinating encounter with exotic animals. Craig Bone lives in a remote area of Northern Zimbabwe and travels throughout Central and South Africa seeking subjects for his paintings. His work is represented in numerous museums worldwide and he has illustrated many books on African wildlife. His paintings have fetched as much as $41000 (Christie's 1998) and prints of his works have sold in thousands, especially in the UK and the USA. It is particularly appropriate that these superb representations of Africa should be offered on behalf of GORTA, Ireland's oldest charity devoted to helping the developing world.
