Kakejiku, depicting a monkey seated beside young pine shrubs growing beside a stream, searching her young for fleas as it lies across its mother's knees, in ink and colour on silk; signed Kinoe saru boshu sha (painted in late Autumn, in the year of the Monkey [1884]), Tokoku Hira(?)Shuko with seal Tokoku. 57cm x 46cm (22 3/8in x 18 1/8in).
