Notes

"Disassembly" is Xia Hang's artistic feature. The sophisticated and sparkling stainless steel work can be disassembled and reassembled piece by piece, and all "components" have accurate and meticulous assembly design. During the reassembly process, the image of the work keeps transforming that conjures up a magical world.
The process of "disassembly" is Xia's journey of seeing sculptures as 'toys' and of playing. Also, during disassembly and reassembly, he is obsessed with experiencing a "force" or, the conversion of the "visible and invisible world" exemplified by the preservation, explosion and sudden destruction of an internal force". Maybe it is through art-playing that the innate creativity could be incited. Through the medium of sculpture-playing, Xia has explored the endlessly profound and changing world.
