WWII SUBJECT LITHOGRAPH BURR SINGER, ST. LOUIS (1912-1992) Titled 'Letters From Home' lower left and pencil signed lower right with a date of '43. Burr Singer was the signed name of Bernice Lee Singer, painter and lithographer with a number of associations, achievements and exhibits to her credit including exhibitions at the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition in San Francisco and at the New York WorldÆs Fair. One of her works (perhaps this image) was exhibited in an important show, ARTISTS FOR VICTORY, at New YorkÆs Metropolitan Museum of Art during WWII. image size of 13.75 x 10.75 and overall sheet size of 17.75 x 13.5 inches. See lot 553 in this auction for an oil on panel by Bernice Lee Singer. Fine noting a thin faint outline from a previous mat, two points of foxing, untrimmed thus four deckled edges, not laid down, archivally matted and framed, very nice
