A bay hunter in a stable yard oil on canvas 20 x 26 in. (50.8 x 66 cm.) PROVENANCE Castletown House, Christie's, Dublin, 29 May 1980, lot 78. W. Osbourne, (inscribed on a label of Stark Brothers, Print Sellers and Frame Makers of 7 Lower Sackville Street, Dublin, together with the date 17/5/67, attached to the stretcher). NOTES According to a label attached to the reverse, The horse was bought for œ120 as a four-year-old in April 1863 from D. Cox. It was sent to J. Codrington, M.F.H on 14 April, 1881.
