4 3/4 x 10 3/4 x 5 3/8 inches 12.1 x 27.3 x 13.7 centimeters initialed and dated 1974 and on verso titled, dated and inscribed "unique" on a gallery label Provenance:Forum Gallery, New York, 1979 Private Collection, Seattle Bill McElcheran was renowned for his large and small-scale freestanding sculptures, including public commissions installed in the streets of Calgary and Toronto, in additional to Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States. His most coveted works include figures of the financial world - robust businessmen outfitted in their daily uniforms of tailored suits caught up in the corporate whirlwind. In Promenade, the three businessmen capture a glimpse of a high-heeled woman, an image which McElcheran imbues with a satirical yet compassionate viewpoint. Undeniably, McElcheran was proficient in creating this paradox of corporate culture and vivacity, which allows viewers to identify with hi striking sculptures. This work was acquired directly from Bella Fishko, founder of the Forum Gallery in New York.
