Always attired in classic, tailored business suits and hats, his businessmen heroically carry on in their corporate world, bustling on their way to their next appointment. McElcheran imbues these archetypal figures with the irony and paradox of modern life, but, although they are robust figures full of vitality, there is something touching in their complete absorption in the rat-race of modern life that we can identify with.
