Notes

William Evans succeeded his father as drawing master at Eton College in 1818. He became a house master in 1840 until 1853 when his own son, Samuel, succeeded him as a master. From 1845 he tended to sign his work William Evans of Eton to distinguish himself from William Evans of Bristol. He exhibited a number of views of North Wales between 1846 and 1850
