signed and dated on the backing card 'W. Egley Miniature Painter 67 Cirencester Place Fitzroy Sq. 1829'
rectangular with arched top and bottom, 4¼ x 3 1/8 in. (109 x 80 mm.), ebonised wood frame with gilt-metal mount and acorn motif
The backing card is further inscribed in pencil with the sitter's name and biographical information.
