Notes

Having worked in London and Dublin, Delacour settled in Edinburgh in 1757, becoming the first Director of the School of Design in the same year. His paintings combine the languid grace of Watteau's fêtes galantes, with the influence of British artists, such as David Allan (1744-1796).

No VAT will be charged on the hammer price, but VAT at 17.5% will be added to the buyer's premium, which is invoiced on a VAT inclusive basis.
