NOTE: This painting is referred to in Marion Whybrow's book, St Ives 1883 - 1993, Portrait of an Art Colony, Page 79. She refers to a letter read at the 1916 Council Meeting, in which Fortescue offers a portrait of Mr. Uren as a mark of his appreciation for the way in which he discharged his duties.
