Wilfred Israel Duphiney (rhode island, 1884-1960) Oil on Canvas Portrait of a Young Boy. Wilfred Israel Duphiney was an illustrator, painter, and lecturer who had a 40 year career teaching at Rhode Island School of Design and painted portraits of many prominent people in Rhode Island. Duphiney painted Thomas Wilson Dorr, Commodore John Barry, and many politicians. The walls of the Rhode Island State House are decorated with 15 of his paintings.He was a member of the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame. His 1956 painting of Harold Brooks Tanner, a former judge in Rhode Island, is at the National Portrait Gallery. He studied at the Rhode Island School of Design. He was a member of the Providence Art Club and the Providence Watercolor Club. In carved wood frame measures 28"x37 1/2"x1 3/4". Weight 8 pds. NO IN HOUSE SHIPPING.
