Lot 1341: West Coast Native Whale Hunter Spirit Pook Oobs Rattle

Whale Hunter Spirit carved on both sides, one side represents Whale Hunter spirit Pook Oobs , and other side of Mask rattle is Pook Oobs spirit lost in the winter......13 inch Height ....very nice both side carved face and nicely painted.......both sides got Mountain Goat hairs..Red Cedar Craved by Russell Tate......Russell Tate from the Ditidaht First Nation on the southwest coast of Vancouver Island. He started carving in 2004, artists such as Art Thompson and the artists on the Ravens and Eagles show inspired him. Russell learned how to wood carved mostly working on his own.
