WELLINGTON, Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of (1769-1852). The Dispatches of Field Marshal the Duke of Wellington ... compiled by Lieut. Colonel Gurwood. London: John Murray, 1832-1839. 15 volumes, 8° (215 x 128mm), including the Index and General Orders volumes as well as the supplementary volume to the first three volumes concerning India. (Occasional light spotting.) Contemporary half calf over marbled-paper covered boards, gilt spines, marbled edges, the India supplementary volume in original paper-backed boards (worn, two backstrips missing, two backstrips highly defective, joints cracked, some hinges crudely repaired). Provenance: AUTHOR'S PRESENTATION COPY of the India supplementary volume (ink ?secretarial inscription to:) -- Lady FitzRoy Somerset -- the other volumes with ink inscriptions to titles 'Lord and Lady Raglan' -- modern armorial bookplates. [Sold with:] -- General Orders. Spain and Portugal [vol. V: Spain and France]. London: T. Egerton, 1811-1814. 5 volumes, 8° (210 x 120mm). Contemporary diced calf, gilt edges (extremities rubbed, joints cracking).
