Item Overview

Description

THOMAS J. WATSON (1874-1956) American businessman, the founder of IBM and considered by many the greatest salesman of all time. Unusual T.L.S. on his letterhead, 1p. 8vo., New York, Nov. 19, 1957, to George Field, head of the Robert Porter Patterson Memorial Committee, in part: "...Thank you for your invitation to attend the annual convention...to discuss the recent experience at Little Rock. The general subject ÔRace Relations, the Law and the Nation' is a provocative topic and while this is an extremely timely conference, I am afraid I cannot attend due to previous commitments...". Light toning to margins, staple holes at top left, overall very good. $250-350
