Watercolor of a German Soldier & Child, on paper, signed in the bottom left F Achert. Scene depicting a soldier feeding little girl with 2 young women intently watching. Ca early 20th century, in a gilt frame, 15" x 11" (image only), 22.5" x 18.5" (w/frame).

Fred Achert (1847-1928) was born in Baden, Germany and was active in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. He was a designer, lithographer, crayon artist and oil painter. He owned his own lithography firm, Achert and Henkel. He was a member of the Cincinnati Art Club.
