Description

Washington Lafayette Germon (American, 1822-1877)

Hand-tinted Ninth-plate Daguerreotype of a Woman with a Floral Hair Decoration, stamped "W.L. GERMON" and "168 CHEST ST PHILA" on brass mat l.l. and l.r., respectively, in an embossed leather case.
Condition: Minor tarnish and surface accretions, possible dust or accretions in glass, split case with repaired spine, case gently worn, cover slightly warped, velvet pad faded, not examined out of case.

Provenance: A private New England collection.
