Notes

Goble's first major professional success came with Grahame's The Water Babies in 1909. He went on to illustrate The Green Willow and other Japanese Fairy Tales, Folk Tales of Bengal and Indian Myth and Legend. In the latter period of his career he was to specialize in illustrations for color plate books.
