Description

Walter Eduard Reinicke (German/American, 1890-1957), "Admiring the Boat Builder," gouache on board, c. 1930s/40s, signed lower right, measures 6.50 x 8.50 inches to the matt edge overall in the frame it measures 13.75 x 12 inches. CONDITION: Good. Reinicke studied at the Dresden academy (1876-1880), and in Munich (1880-1882) before coming to America where he worked out of Forest Hills, Queens and Brooklyn, NY. He was employed by Carlyle and Oring Studios in Manhattan in the 1940s and was known to have exhibited at the Society of Independent Artists in New York City.
