*Walls (William, 1860-1942). A Couple of Otterhounds, oil on canvas, laid down on board, signed, 28.5 x 35cm (11.25 x 13.75ins), gilt frame. William Walls, R.S.A., R.S.W., was born in Dunfermline, and studied at the Royal Scottish Academy Life School in Edinburgh and the Antwerp Academy. He specialised in painting animals in oil and watercolour, and worked extensively in the zoos at London and Antwerp, as well as in the Fen Country and the Scottish Highlands. (1)
