A young girl, facing left in frill-edged white dress with striped silk sash, short light brown hair; cloud and sky background signed and dated in full on the backing paper 'W. P. J Lodder July 1800' oval, 2 13/16 in. (71 mm.) high, silver-gilt frame, the reverse centred by a silver-gilt mounted oval reserve containing plaited brown hair surrounded by translucent blue glass on a radiant guilloch‚ foil ground.
