Notes

In 1910, Baranov-Rossiné left for Paris via Stockholm, Kiel and Munich. During this period he familiarised himself with European stylistic innovations. Cubist, Orphist and Cézannist influences are discernible in this peaceful light-filled landscape, while the tonal palette, the pure forms and the well-defined composition endow the work with a pleasing sense of balance.
