Of compressed globular shape and painted in pale cobalt blue tones with a dense scrolling design with flowerheads to the body and the flat circular fitted cover with a plain band at the rim, the base with a six-character
Jiajing mark.


2 3/8in (6cm) diam, wood stand

Two small infills to cover rim chips mostly visible to underside of cover. The unglazed foot ring of the box with a small firing lane to the edge (1.5cm), possibly from the kiln. Generally, in good condition. Beautifully executed penciled lotus design.
