Notes

Bellesi (see Literature) places this study amongst a group of academic drawings which are mostly given to Vincenzo's nephew and pupil, Pietro Dandini. Three other studies by Vincenzo do, however, appear to show the same posed model from different angles: at the Biblioteca Marucelliana, Florence (inv.no. E36), the Gabinetto Nazionale delle Stampe (inv.no. F.C. 125423) and the Louvre (inv. no. 1131).υ1 Sold with four other 17th Century Florentine red chalk academy studies, each measuring circa 420 by 280mm, three bearing numbering in brown ink, upper right. 1.
