Description

Signed V. Evard Bronze, rich dark brown patination, oval black marble base Group 21 cm (8 1/4 in) Base 2.5 cm (1 in) Victor Evrard was a pupil of Danton the Elder and exhibited at the Salon between 1838 and 1877. He executed a figure of Christ for the Church of Saint-Pierre-du-Gros-Caillou in Paris, and made various busts for the facade of the Opera and the Theatre du Vaudeville.
