PROVENANCE: Private collection, New York. Liu Jianhua began training as a ceramicist at the age of ffteen. In his career as an artist he has used the medium of porcelain to refect the social and economic changes in contemporary China. The work presented here is one of Liu’s classic headless and armless supine female fgures dressed in high heels and traditional cheongsam.
