TWO SMALL BLUE AND WHITE
GU-SHAPED BEAKER VASES

Kangxi

Each painted in a rich cobalt blue in an archaistic style with
taotie-masks on a diaper-cell ground between whorl bands to the shallow barrel-shaped central section between leaf lappets to the spreading lower section and trumpet-shaped upper section. (2)


9 5/8 in (24.4cm) and 9 1/4in (23.4cm) high

Condition Report

Larger beaker: Generally, in good overall condition. A few minor kiln pinprick bubbles to the surface but unobtrusive. mall burst bubble on rim.


Smaller beaker: This has three large breaks restored to the trumpet rim with overpainting to some smaller losses.
