Two post-War motoring cartoons by William August Sillince (British, 1906-1974) and Ken Pyne (British, 1951-)
the first by Sillince, signed, ink on woven paper, titled "Tow'ee to the village, Mister? Can't. Ain't got twelve horses!", rural scene depicting a conversation between a motorist with his broken down car and a village local with his horse, 25 x 32cm, dated '12 Sep 1945' and with publisher's stamps to reverse, affixed within cream card mount, 33 x 39cm overall, the second by Ken Pyne, signed, pen and ink on paper, titled "Good Grief! Isn't that the car we dumped near Maidenhead in 1956" , a humorous motoring auction scene, 19 x 26cm, published in Punch magazine, dated 1987/88 to reverse. (2)
