LEO TOLSTOY (1828-1910) Russian writer, the most famous of his generation, known for his monumental novels War and Peace and Anna Karenina. Exceedingly rare S.P. 4" x 6" b/w, a seated portrait showing Tolstoy in his later years with hands clasped. Boldly signed "Leo Tolstoy " at bottom. Floated on a white mat and framed in a dark carved wood frame. Light creasing to corners, otherwise in very good condition. Unexamined out of frame. A superb example, in the rarest format. $2,500-3,500
