THREE MONOCHROME-GLAZED VASES

The green and black glazed vases, 18th century; the other 18th/19th century

Comprising a crackled green glazed oviform vase of elegant form with waisted flaring neck, unglazed wedge foot ring and green glazed slightly convex base, 18th century; a miniature mirror-black-glazed bottle vase with tall slender neck with a flaring rim with a gold or gilt-metal mount, the black glaze with an underlying iron-brown tone, an unglazed wedge shaped foot ring and clear-glazed white base, 18th century; and a flambé-glazed double-gourd vase with an underlying pale strawberry glaze with darker blood-red streaks with further purplish-blue highlights, the glaze thinning at the rim to a celadon white tone that continues to the interior, an unglazed foot ring and celadon white glazed base, 18/19th century. (3)

black-glazed vase: 2 5/8in (6.7cm) high
flambé-glazed vase: 7in (17.8cm) high

Condition Report

Green glazed vase: Three chips to rim underside infilled. A few minor air-bubble pinpricks. Some surface wear.

Black glazed vase: The gold or gilt-metal rim may very well hide some polish to the rim but we are unable to remove. However, we assume that there may be a slight height reduction.

Flambe vase: The pooling flambe glaze above the foot ring has been polished down and the foot ring itself polished smooth.
