Donna Maria Agata Moncada (1803-1862), later Principessa di Satriano Filangieri, in white muslin dress with lace inserts, citron-set blue ribbon, coral beads and drop-pendant earring, sky background, by Francesco Landolfi, signed 'Landolfi' (mid-left); together with a lady, in white muslin dress with Renaissance-style sleeve, coral double-strand necklace, drop-pendant earring, and comb adorning her dark hair, by Francesco Emanuele Scotto; together with a lady, in white dress with floral corsage, ermine mantle, flowers adorning her powdered hair, after Rosalba Carriera
all on ivory
ovals: 2½ in. (65 mm.) high, in square ormolu frame with stamped acanthus border, anthemion spandrels and réverbère gold mount, 2 3/8 in. (60 mm.) and 2 7/8 in. (74 mm.) high, gilt-metal mounts within rectangular ebonised wood frames
A vellum label affixed to the reverse of the portrait miniature by Landolfi is inscribed 'La Princessa di Satriano Filangieri 1818.'. (3)

Donna Maria Agata Moncada was the daughter of Don Giovanni Luigi, 9th Principe di Paternò and Donna Giovanna del Bosco of the Duchi di Belvedere. She married Don Carlo Filangieri, Principe di Satriano, Duca di Taormina (1784-1867) in 1820 and attained the title of Principessa di Satriano.
