Notes

This bark was collected by a Welfare Officer whilst working on Groote Eylandt in the late 1960s. Between 1966 and 1969 she worked closely with Amagula, who was employeed at the time by the Northern Territory Administration as a Patrol Officer.

Amagula is one of the earliest documented artists from Groote Eylandt. Two of his works dating from the 1940s are represented in the Leonhard Adams Collection at the University of Melbourne.
