Lot 242: Thomas Hargreaves (British, 1775-1846)

A Lady, seated on a plum upholstered chaise-longue, wearing green dress with bouffant sleeves and double-tiered white lace trim, her white shawl draped about her arms, in her left hand she holds a monocle suspended from a long gold chain, multi-stranded gold bracelet on her left wrist, her hair curled and upswept beneath a white lace bonnet tied beneath her chin and dressed with flowers. Ormolu frame with border of foliate and scroll leaf decoration. Rectangular, 107mm (4 3/16in) high Provenance: Christie's, London, 23 June 1981, lot 147.
